The backyard pond waterfall kit includes a 12-inch waterfall spillway, 42W 1200GPH pump, filter box, approximately 9.8 ft threaded hose, power adapter, four pump outlet adapters and two hose clamps.
Will the waterfall produce an even water sheet?
Yes. Internal barriers inside the spillway help distribute water across the outlet, creating a smoother, more even sheet of water while helping reduce excessive splashing.
What does the filter box do?
The filter box works mainly as a pump pre-filter and protective enclosure, helping keep larger debris such as leaves away from the pump and reducing the chance of clogging. It should not be confused with a complete biological pond filtration system.
Does this kit filter the entire pond?
The backyard pond waterfall kit included filter box is primarily designed to protect the pump from larger debris. If your pond requires dedicated mechanical, biological or UV filtration, a separate pond filtration system may still be needed.
What size pond is this kit suitable for?
This backyard pond waterfall kit is suitable for ponds from 600 to 2400 gallons. For heavily stocked fish ponds or koi ponds, choose a larger filtration setup if the water load is high.
How strong is the water flow?
The backyard pond waterfall kit uses a 1200GPH pump with a 12-inch wide spillway platform, helping create a smooth and stable cascading waterfall effect.
Is installation difficult?
No. The system is designed for DIY installation. Position the spillway, connect the hose, select the correct pump outlet adapter, place the pump inside the filter box, submerge it and connect the power adapter.
Can the waterfall box be hidden?
Yes. The spillway can be hidden with rocks, pond edging, or landscape materials for a natural built-in look. It can also be installed externally if you want the waterfall box to be visible.
How often should I clean the filter media?
Check the filter bag, filter pads, and pump regularly, especially if your pond has fish, leaves, algae, or muddy water. Clean the filter media when water flow becomes weaker or the waterfall is no longer smooth.
Is the pump noisy?
The pump operates below 40 dB, so the sound of the waterfall should generally be more noticeable than the pump itself.
Can I use this in winter?
If your area freezes in winter, remove the pump, tubing, and filter components before freezing temperatures. Clean and dry the parts before indoor storage to prevent freeze damage.
