Customers praise the pump's strong flow and easy installation, creating "the perfect waterfall effect." The filter keeps water clear and is easy to clean. However, multiple shoppers reported the included hose develops leaks within weeks, requiring replacement. Overall, a good starter kit with excellent pump performance but hose quality needs improvement.

Hose leaks

Waterfall works great, easy to assemble. However… the hose started leaking 2weeks in. Everyday there is a new hole. Have to replace and redesign the whole structure.

Does the job.

This changed our pond from green to clear. We can actually see the fish! However, the hose on it is flimsy and it caught on a rock and tore, without us seeing it, it ran all the water out and our large Koi's died. We replaced the hose with a solid hose and we are back in business. The filter doesn't have to be cleaned as often as our previous one, which is a big plus.

Great purchase

Came quickly and most importantly made my wife very happy. Works exactly as described and is made well. Will definitely purchase from this store again.

Ok starter system. Terrible hose

Issue was the hose. As others have mentioned. It developed many leaks throughout and eventually needed to be replaced after a month.

Could be better

Five stars for the strong pump and large filter. But the hose developed pinhole leaks. I taped over it but then another place started leaking. I'm looking for a replacement hose. Its gonna be a pain to redo the hose. There should be better instructions for putting it together. Also, I had to put a large rock over the plate that holds down the filter insides. I also bought a separate cage to put the pump in because the mesh bag didn't work well in preventing the intake from getting blocked.

Works great!

This thing is awesome. I love the sock filter and it is very easy to clean. Came with everything I needed and some things I didn’t realize I needed but am using! All around happy buyer!

Great all in one starter kit for pond project.

This is a great all in one kit that got my new pond started with a pump, filter and beginnings of a waterfall. I have some work to do with disguising it with more rocks and plants but I got it up and running immediately. It’s been running for a couple of weeks and the filter has kept the water clean. It came with some ceramic filter stone things in a mesh bag, but the hopper has a lot of room so I added some more filter ball things from another supplier. Good flow rate from the pump. Seems like ample circulation for the size of my pond, but for the look, I might like a wider waterfall and I’d like to hear and see more of a cascade, so I think I’ll buy one more identical unit and place it side by side with the first one. Then I’ll disguise both with rocks and make it look like one spillway.

Excellent complete package to add flowing water to your pond, outdoor landscaping!

We haven’t had a chance to install this yet, as we’re just coming out of winter and still dealing with last freeze, etc. However, there is nothing lacking in this kit other than, perhaps, a finer mesh debris filter for the water intake. However, that’s easily found or even improvised if you’re of the DIY ilk!The set includes everything you need including a very healthy 1200GPH (gallons per hour) pond pump and 10 feet of corrugated tubing although a few extra feet would have been just right. Setup is fairly straight forward and allows for a little flexibility (hence the desire for a slightly longer hose). Once we have gotten past the last thaw, we will certainly get this set up properly and update the review if necessary. But upon first inspection, it certainly is everything you need to get started and the price point is fair, considering everything that you receive!

Complete Weir Kit

This Poposoap waterfall kit comes as a complete set to easily set up a waterfall or weir in your pond. The only thing lacking to help this feature along would be a skimmer that isolates the pump from incoming debris. As it is, the kit does include a 1,200 GPH pump and a filter mesh bag that surrounds the pump. It will suffice to keep large debris out, but you will have to be regular in your cleaning of the mesh to keep the intake clear. We are still in the grips of winter in the northern part of the country, so we won't be able to install this kit until the ground thaws, but we have had ponds before with the same sort of weir and appreciate the ability of the feature to clean and clear the water. We have also received pumps and filters from Poposoap before and were impressed with their quality. This set includes the waterfall with a reservoir installed that houses the included filter media, a 10 foot length of 1" corrugated hose, a foam filter and several filter fabric layers and bags as well as a mesh drawstring bag with a small amount of ceramic media inside. A metal plate with holes in it make up the last piece. We are confused however at the placement of these layers of filtering and plates. The included directions show a different way to layer the filters, instead of stacked, they are intended to be laid on edge so that the rear hose entry pushes the water horizontally into the bucket. The flat filter layers are stacked in front of the entry and the metal plate holds it all in. Our past experience with mesh filter media is that after a while, it becomes clogged with debris and will be forced off the intake by the incoming pressure of pumped water. The directions do refer to the metal as a rock plate as well, so perhaps its final position is atop the stack of filter. In older waterfalls, we had a mesh bag of volcanic rock as the final bacteria residence. We might rearrange the order that the directions detail, but we still expect positive results. What are important is a bed for beneficial bacteria to grow and live and good aeration via the movement of water. We plan on ringing the falls with a layer of pond liner and placing rocks below the weir to add aeration and additional home for bacteria.Of all that is included, we wished for a longer section of hose. 10' gets eaten up quickly, so the pump will have to be placed closer to the falls. Further away is beneficial to offer complete circulation. We also wish there was a skimmer as previously stated. And finally, we wish for a more robust enclosure for the pump to keep the debris from clogging it. Nonetheless, this is a reasonably priced waterfall kit and will add benefits to your aquarian life and water quality.

Would this filter kit and waterfall be sufficient for a 125 gallon pond with some small fish and plants. I live in Colorado and pond is a partially shaded so no extreme temperatures.

Thanks
