On July 20, 2026, the Popsoap team participated in the Austin Pond Society (APS) Sponsor Night: Show-and-Tell at the Zilker Botanical Garden Auditorium in Austin, Texas.
The event brought together local experienced pond, water-garden, and outdoor horticulture enthusiasts. We had the opportunity to connect with them face-to-face. We didn't just present our brand and products; we spent a lot of time listening—learning about how they plan their ponds, the challenges they face, and their expectations for outdoor equipment.
For us, this direct interaction was the most valuable part of the evening.
A Long-Standing Local Pond Community
The Austin Pond Society (APS), founded in 1991, is a nonprofit organization that brings together people with a shared interest in ponds, waterscapes, koi, goldfish, aquatic plants, and outdoor gardening.
For many years, the association has provided a platform for its members to exchange practical knowledge about pond construction and maintenance. Many APS members have years of practical experience caring for backyard ponds and waterscape gardens. Topics discussed range from water quality and plant care to fish health, equipment selection, seasonal maintenance, and landscaping.
The solar fountain demonstration attracted significant attention
Over 30 APS members attended the Sponsor Night event. They exchanged ideas with sponsors and discussed pond design, installation, maintenance, and the long-term use of equipment.
During the event, we showcased the 8W solar fountain pump. This sparked considerable interest among members. Most were concerned about ease of installation, routine maintenance, outdoor durability, and performance stability, with the built-in battery also being a hot topic. The built-in battery was also a hot topic.
We also provided giveaways for the event, including demonstrations and a raffle. This allowed attendees to see the product firsthand, rather than relying solely on photos or written descriptions. Winners of the giveaway also took photos with the Poposoap booth, making it a simple yet memorable moment of the evening.
Growing with the Community
We are incredibly grateful to the Austin Pond Society for welcoming Poposoap to their Sponsor Night, and to our members who came to speak with us. The questions, stories, and suggestions from our members gave our team a deeper understanding of the daily experiences of pond and water garden owners.
This Sponsor Night reminded us that every pond is different. Their priorities differ, but reliability, ease of installation, and ease of maintenance are recurring themes. The feedback we hear will help us continue to develop practical, reliable, easy-to-install products that are better suited to the actual garden environment.
