(1) Key Installation Steps
Assembly of the waterfall box: Use the matching black waterproof glue to glue the connecting eaves. Although the buckle structure is stable enough, the glue can further prevent micro-leakage. During the 2-hour standstill period for the glue to cure, the bellows can be cut to the appropriate length (I trimmed it to 2 feet according to the size of the water tank) and fixed with a hose clamp to ensure sealing.
Pump cabin layout: Rinse the ceramic ring with the original tank water in advance to prevent dust from clogging the pump body. The biological ball bin can add activated carbon or algae removal filter material according to water quality requirements. The top guide plate needs to be aligned with the water inlet of the waterfall box to form a smooth water flow circulation.
Water level adaptation: The water flow speed is controlled by the water pump flow regulating valve. It is recommended to keep the waterfall drop at 15-30 cm, which can produce a pleasant water sound and avoid splashing water and causing water loss.
(2) Multi-Scenario Application Solutions
Small courtyard water tank: A single set of equipment can meet the filtration of 80-150 liters of water, and can be matched with water hyacinth, copper coin grass and other emergent plants to form a complete ecological chain.
Koi shallow pond: Two sets of equipment are connected in series and used with a sedimentation tank to maintain the clarity of more than 300 liters of water, which is especially suitable for courtyard environments with more fallen leaves.
Desktop micro landscape: Cut the corrugated pipe to 50 cm, miniaturize the waterfall box and place it in a glass container, match it with moss and ferns to create an indoor ecological landscape.
4. Long-Term Use Experience and Cost-Effectiveness
After a month of actual testing, this system has shown significant advantages: compared with traditional plastic filter boxes, stainless steel material reduces the maintenance frequency from once a week to once a month; the biological filtration system keeps the water clear and the ammonia nitrogen content is always below 0.1mg/L. Compared with similar products, the price of about US$100 (including pump body and accessories) is very affordable, especially for players who pursue long-term durability.
It is worth noting that although the equipment has an anti-UV design, long-term exposure to the sun may still cause the rubber parts to age.
